How coaches take card payments
Students pay when they buy a credit pack. The charge lands on the coach’s Stripe Express account. Roundwork AI is not the merchant of record for lesson payments.

Each paid credit-pack purchase is a Stripe Connect direct charge on the partner’s connected account.
Roundwork AI is not the merchant of record for lesson or credit-pack payments. You are, for both the credit purchase and the underlying lesson. The platform deducts its commission from your Stripe balance as an application fee.
Until Stripe Connect is complete (charges enabled and payouts enabled, or hosted onboarding finished with no outstanding requirements), students cannot buy credit packs. The public page can still show an interest list and configured free trial lessons.
Platform commission
A percentage of the pack price, not added on top
The student pays the listed package price. Your net is gross minus platform commission minus Stripe processing fees.
Current Partner-plan rates on credit-pack payments: Starter 4.9%, Pro 1.9%, Scale 0.9%. The commission is a percentage of what the student pays. It is not added on top of the price the student sees.
Beta Founders without a Stripe subscription are treated as Starter for commission (4.9%) until they upgrade. Commission always follows the active plan, not founder marketing copy. Melzer Labs does not charge Swiss MWST on the platform commission at this time.

Payouts
Stripe pays out to your bank
Students pay at pack purchase, not when they attend the lesson.
That charge lands on your Stripe Express connected account. The platform commission is taken as an application fee at that moment. Stripe processing fees are also billed to your connected account.
Payout from Stripe to your bank follows Stripe’s payout schedule for Express accounts in your country (you configure this in the Stripe Express dashboard). Roundwork AI does not hold lesson funds and does not run a separate “pay out after the lesson” ledger.
- Open the Express dashboard from Manage → Payments after Connect is complete.
- Balances, payouts, identity/bank details and tax registrations live in Stripe.
- Until charges and payouts are enabled, students cannot buy packs.
Questions about payments
Who is the merchant of record?
The partner (coach) is the merchant of record for credit-pack purchases and the underlying lesson. Roundwork AI deducts a platform commission; it does not take the student payment onto its own merchant account.
When do I get paid?
When the student buys a credit pack, not when they attend. Stripe then pays out to your bank on the Express payout schedule you configured.
What if I have not connected Stripe yet?
Students cannot buy credit packs. They can still join the interest list or book configured free trials on your public page.
Do students pay Stripe fees on top?
No. The student pays the listed pack price. Stripe processing fees and the platform commission are deducted from the partner’s side.
Connect Stripe when you are ready to sell packs
Start the trial, publish a page, then finish Stripe Connect Express from Manage → Payments.
